Lunch with Jesus

Novembre 16th/17th, 2010

Novembre 16th, 2010

I looked at the weather on my iPod... it said rain all week. Lame. I went to class this morning and was the only one there... eventually 3 others showed up about 10, 15, and 30 minutes later. We started covering past tense today... whoop! (so much easier than present tense, only 1 thing to remember, moving verb or not, the rest is easy) During class we talked about the holiday season and how they all differed in everyone's home countries... Holland has a BIG breakfast on Christmas and then big dinners on the 25th and 26th (Babo Natale also comes in a big boat)... France celebrates from the 24th-26th with big dinners each night and open their gifts as soon as it is past midnight on the 25th, Italy has their traditional 5 course meal (antipasti, primo piatto, secondo piatto, contorno, dolce) on the 25th (usually a tag team effort between two women), and then on the 6th of January there is Befana... a witch who flys around and leaves candy in the stockings of good little kids and coal (black candy) to the bad little kids. It was a lot of fun learning about the other customs. I wish I'd written down everything so I remembered it all... oh well.

I got in contact with my advisor at the medschool to find out the process I need to do to request my position back formally... I'm working on finding the template I had...

After class I stopped at a vending machine and bought a chocolate bar in the metro... it got stuck. so I bought the one behind it and the first one fell... then the second got stuck. I shook the machine. (I think they're heavier or something) nothing... I reached in for the first one and the second fell just from me opening the little flap. Too much chocolate in one day...

When Nic got home we did a little bit of math with Lavi, then headed to Catechism with Carmita... after we dropped them off Carmi and I walked back... talking about shopping in different countries and prices of things and such... apparently Spain has AWESOME prices... like 50 euro for Nikes! 12 euro for name brand jeans...

Jelco also invited me to the AS Roma game this weekend and told me I had to learn the commencement song... 17 euro... I'm so freakin' excited... then Erica and I are seeing HP on Sunday (hopefully)!!!!!

**Just an update... I keep eating all this great food and I can't remember any of the names... I'm sorry... but I do know that Rosetta bread should be consumed the day it is bought... much better then! :)**

This morning I watched GLEE... not a fan of Principle Sue... I liked Figgins. ;) But he did have a pretty good exit... the look on his face after he got sneezed on was hilarious!

THEN!!!!! I started/revamped my letter of intent to start medical school next fall. It took almost all day... I finally finished around 1, then I headed out for some lunch. Lunch today was all about one of my besties, Jesus Alejandro Perez Rementeria... I went and bought his Christmas present, and at lunch had 2! pieces of baklava. One for me, and one for him. :) Then I took the bus home listening to my Disney playlist he made me. :) (oh, and I bought a Hufflepuff tie for Sunday :) ALSO I saw a chess set today that was Texas vs. Mexico... if it wasn't 50 euro, I would have bought it...

When I got home I did some editing of my letter with some outside resourcing... and then we did some homework, had some amazing dinner (gnocchi but not the potato gnocchi, more like a bread) and tiny chicken things... and Nonna Jo (Giancarla) made a super good looking cheesecake... I'm excited to eat it tomorrow at breakfast. I know. Cheesecake for breakfast... it's like a double edged sword...

ok... that's it... all i've got... tomorrow class and another day in paradise...

In commemoration of someone calling me Texas Ranger today...
"Chuck Norris burns ants with a magnifying glass... at NIGHT!"
