A morning with no mother. This morning, Raffa left for France to work until Thursday. Nico left for school dressed and on time, after having breakfast. Diletta showed me a couple of places to get my sandals at and I went to check the prices at both stores, I found a good pair at the first store but when I went back, it was closed. Giorgio says many of the smaller stores close from 1-4 so they can be open later, like from 4-8 or something like that. So I will return tomorrow. I forgot to put away the breakfast things like cereal and sugar when I left and didn't realize until I got back and Anita already had. She's a really sweet lady, and I like helping her with the immondizia(rubbish), sorting it, recycling, taking it out. I like talking with her in Italian because if I want to communicate with her, it has to be Italian, and there's no one else around to judge my mistakes. :)
After I got back from finding out the sport shop near piazza Buenos Aires was closed, I went to Villa Ada for a run/ab/chest workout... it was good, effective and tiring, but good. I tried a new trail today going back. It involved a BIG hill and lots of climbing, but I ended back on the path that I normally run back on, just more tired. When Nico got home, we started on homework. We finished his math(writing and spelling out large numbers), then we waited for Diletta to help with the Italian. Martina and her friend Sophie came up to get help with their homework too. I helped them with their English then Diletta worked on them with their Italian. They're only 6 so their Italian was just writing letters and their English was just reading.
Nico and I played hotwheels for a little while, some indoor hockey, some throw the pillow at Dub and pretend it's a saw blade... played some basketball... fun day all together. For dinner, Zia Paola(Aunt Paola) invited Nico to eat. So I made dinner for myself, and I have to admit, it turned out pretty well. Even if I was the only one who ate it. Giorgio and Diletta came in after I'd finished cooking and told me they'd throw something together themselves. I'll put the picture of my first full "Italian" meal in my album.
After dinner, Giorgio and I went and had a Gelato(fragola/strawberries&limone/lemon), then grabbed Nico from downstairs for a shower and bed. Everything is "ready" for tomorrow... I'm going to go over it all again when I wake up to make sure. I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. CIAO!
